What are web cookies?

Setting and storing cookies

Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting as a user (“own cookies”) or by a third-party website that manages the content on the website you are viewing (“cookies from elsewhere”). Cookies can be stored for different lengths of time, only for the duration of the browsing session or much longer. A temporary or session cookie is a cookie that allows us to link your actions during a browser session. A browser session starts when you open a browser window and ends when you close it. Session cookies are created temporarily and are deleted when your browser window is closed. A persistent cookie is a cookie that remains on your device. This is activated every time you visit the website that created this particular cookie.

What cookies do we use on my blog?

The website uses certain strictly necessary cookies to remember your login, facilitate the entry of comments and the like. I do not use this information for any other purpose and do not share it with anyone. The website uses Google Analytics performance cookies exclusively for the purpose of visiting statistics and improving the user experience, or website improvement. In the case of crawling, I use a generated WordPress search engine that uses a performance cookie to store the user’s search preferences.
